A gift to the City of Beverly Hills from Harold Lloyd’s mother, with installation funding from the Women’s Club of Beverly Hills, the Electric Fountain stands in
recognition of long-standing community philanthropy. It also serves as the centerpiece of one of the region’s most conspicuous intersections, at Wilshire and
Santa Monica Boulevards. Homage is also paid to the local Tongva Native American tribe with the Robert Merrell Gage sculpture crowning the fountain. The
fountain is complemented by a Mediterranean and early Modern California planting palette along this stretch of the park.
