Canon Drive to Beverly Drive. Visitors flock from around the world to take photos with the
Beverly Hills monument sign. This sign was one of the earliest and most prominent focal
points of the park, and was removed long ago due to lack of maintenance. It was recently
recreated in a community-backed project led and funded by resident and author Robert
S. Anderson in cooperation with the Rotary Club of Beverly Hills. A low and tranquil
water feature is currently located in front of the sign. Like the sign, the lily pond originally
in front of it disappeared, filled where a raised lawn now resides. This central block features
additional key elements including a nearly century-old fig tree and “The Drummer” bronze,
part of the hare series by celebrated Irish sculptor Barry Flanagan.
This block needs your support to provide significant rehabilitation,
bring back the lily pond and restore Beverly Hills history. |
